Taking place at the Department of Sports Development Indoor Court, Padanama Mawatha, Colombo 07, this open-format championship marks the third edition of Sri Lanka’s premier national Sepaktakraw tournament. The event focuses on promoting fundamental ball control techniques and tactical skills, while also serving as a platform to identify and nurture emerging talent for future national development programs. Players from across the country will compete in a dynamic showcase of athleticism and teamwork.

An upcoming international training initiative—dates to be announced—will feature Sri Lankan Head Coach Mr. Indika Samarasinghe, who recently participated in a Sepaktakraw skills development program in Thailand alongside 10 national team players. Upon returning, Coach Samarasinghe will lead a knowledge-sharing session aimed at transferring valuable insights, techniques, and strategic learnings to the wider Sepaktakraw community in Sri Lanka. This initiative is designed to strengthen local coaching standards, elevate player performance, and foster long-term growth of the sport nationwide.

Scheduled to take place at St. Joseph’s College Indoor Stadium, Darley Road, Colombo, this open-format championship invites Sepaktakraw teams from across the country to compete for national championship titles. It’s a key event for both emerging and seasoned players to showcase their skills and elevate the sport’s profile.

Planned for January 2026, this event will serve as the official selection trials to identify top athletes who will represent Sri Lanka at the 6th South Asian Sepaktakraw Championship, hosted in Colombo. Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, it will feature country’s most promising players, aiming to secure their spot on the team.
